Layering

An onion, the bulbous kind, is visibly made up of many layers of fleshly leaves. By design, the outer layers of the onion protect the inner layers. Technically, the bulb is food storage for the bud (future flower) while it's dormant and eventually growing. Keeping the bud safe and fed is the primary purpose of an onion bulb.

We all have gifts and ideas within us to share with the world, yet it is sometimes difficult to nurture them to existence. We have a hard time keeping our buds (future flowers) safe! Either we are struggling to survive in a harsh environment (soil not suited for our growth) or we just don't have enough personal energy (bulb food) to see these gifts or ideas through. Unlike onion bulbs, we are a thinking and collaborating species that can positively (and negatively) change its environment and energy.

Our gifts and ideas can flower if we support each other's growth.

Our gifts and ideas can thrive if we support and build a fertile and just community.

We have all the tools we need to make a great garden.

  1. What tools can you bring to the garden in order to better yourself and support another’s growth?

  2. What habits do you embody in order to help you bring your ideas and gifts to life?

  3. What ideas do you want to see come to life, but need a little help to get them growing?

I am hungry now, great.

With energy,

Shelton
