Thank Me
During the month of November, our social media feeds will be flooded with individuals sharing what giving thanks means to them. I support and celebrate each of those personal recognitions! Even our next couple Empathy Standups are dedicated to Gratitude, so we too are on the bandwagon.
Here are some Miro slides that we collaborated on during the most recent Empathy Standup:
Here are two articles that were mentioned during Empathy Standup. Knowing that many of us in the United States of America are about to sit around a table for family meal to celebrate Thanksgiving + Friendsgiving, it’s good to be a little prepared before we are asked, “What are you grateful for this year?” These articles might help alleviate the stress and give you some pointer as to how to organize a better conversation around gratitude.

So, in the spirit of the season, I’d like to thank you, the Empathy Lab community, the Empathy Lab team, my family and close friends for your continued support, participation, and energy. While the year isn’t done connecting me to amazing people, I’ve become quite aware that mountains can be moved, but not by yourself. Thank you to the new Empathy Decathlon facilitators and Theresa Ward for being dedicated to EL’s mission of, “Championing the power and practice of empathy”. Together, with the community, we WILL move the mountains and evolve our culture to be more empathetic and compassionate.
Also, don’t forget, as Snoop Dog says, part of giving thanks is thanking YOURSELF - so I’d recommend adding YOU to your giving thanks list, too. Like the silly airplane announcement about putting your oxygen mask on first, you are the first person you should thank. Without your personal drive, curiosity, lived experiences, and needs, you wouldn’t be doing the amazing things you are doing. Thank you, you!
So, what are you thanking yourself for?
