Mise en place

Mise en place, or putting in place. This is a phrase I learned while working in the kitchens of classically trained chefs. In order for them to do their work, they had to have everything and everybody in place. A well functioning kitchen is both an assembly line and a living art. In order for the artistry of food to exist at the pace of a restaurant, things and people had to be in their place so that the dance could happen.

In life, when we have errant things in place, they get in the way, slow us down, and distract us. Think about "mise en place" when it comes to your life, your work, your hobbies, your pleasure. Do you have the things you need to be successful in place?

With energy,

Shelton
