Celebrating 2022 + Community in 2023

Happy New Year! Our word of the year is COMMUNITY. As we strive to support you and your team with an Empathy Practice, here are our most relevant reflections and resources!

Reflecting on 2022

What a year! We just pulled the numbers from 2022, and we were able to strengthen the Empathy Practice for over 250+ individuals, during 100+ sessions live and online, for dozens of companies and organizations.

Here’s a small sampling of the Empathy Athletes we got the privilege to work with:

  • Basketball referees from Mexico

  • PR executives in the Northeast

  • Facilitators in the DC region

  • Logistics software team here in Atlanta

  • Kindergarten and grade school support volunteers in Maryland

  • Restaurant managers in Georgia and South Carolina

  • Greeting card innovators from Michigan

  • Social impact digital solution team from the California coast

  • Eye tracking innovators from from Bangkok to Berlin

Through our coaching and curriculum we covered everything from power and privilege dynamic, to practicing apologies, to exploring feedback methods, and ways to navigate international employment law challenges (!)

We’re so proud of this progress - thank you for all your support in helping us get there. In 2023, we want to blow this number out of the water. We’re more confident than ever that the Empathy Decathlon is relevant for everyone. If you haven’t checked it out yet? Scroll for that opportunity to join us …

Empathy Athlete Community

It can be so difficult to hold intentions, resolutions, and practices throughout the year. Life happens and we find ourselves off track and not meeting the goals we had hoped for. As stubborn adults, we typically attempt to take on big, uncomfortable, and seemingly impossible tasks by ourselves. This year can be different if we go together.

In 2023, we are holding space for those that want to improve themselves and to grow together with a community. Our space is called the Empathy Athlete Community (EAC). The EAC will have weekly Wednesday practices, bring in engaging guest speakers, hold quarterly larger practices, have office hours in-person at the Atlanta Lab, build energy, decrease baggage, and improve the way we practice self-empathy and community empathy, together.

Membership to this community is $20/month or $240/year. This fee will ensure two things:

  1. Keep us accountable to one another and to an empathy practice

  2. Provide financial support for a year’s worth of programming

Let’s make 2023 amazing y’all!!

With energy,
Shelton + The EL Team
