Be kind to yourself

Part of self-empathy is realizing that punishing yourself for not accomplishing a goal is directly counter to fulfilling that goal. Yes, some say that they need to feel pain to stop procrastinating, but why would we want to train ourselves to react positively to pain?

Train yourself to react to kindness.

Be kind to yourself, always, and especially when things don't go as expected. As Bruce Lee once said in an interview, "…be water, my friend.”
