What’s your definition of empathy?

As I continue to ask people what their definition to empathy is, I’ve come to two conclusions. First, that thing about walking in another person’s shoes that we were taught early on has stuck. Great job Mom’s, Dad’s Grandparents, and family members! My second finding, the act of defining empathy for some people appears to be a philosophical exercise of, “No duh.” Whether you’ve taken you’ve taken the childhood version and moved it to today or come up with a new brilliant definition that suits your life, think about it. What is your definition of empathy?

Once you’ve figured this out and you are comfortable with it, your second question is actually the more personal and complicated one. This is where Empathy Lab will do it’s research. Given your definition of empathy, how to you actively build and share empathy?
