Have you toured your local fire station?
I recently took my family to our local fire station for a 3 year old’s birthday party. While hoisting my own 3 year old up into the ladder truck, I realized that this type of activity is typically only for kids parties, not for curious adults. Curious adults tour breweries, wineries, take chef classes at fancy kitchen X, or learn how to paint vases with flowers while on a date. Why don’t adults tour places like the fire station, the police station, and even more interesting, the local landfill. All of these community jobs are detailed and very important to our daily lives, and I for one don’t know too much about them. Time to start setting up community tours. Before that, have you toured your local fire station?
